The standard map is compiled by using authoritative geographic information and adhers to the standardized drawing method for regional boundaries. It plays a crucial role in promoting map usage standardization, reducing problematic maps, and has extensive applications across various sectors. Taking Shandong province as an example, a series of integrated technical methods for the design, compilation, release, and online application of standard maps have been put forward. These enable free browsing, downloading, and online self-help mapping of multi-region, multi-theme versions with varying scales. Moreover, it can provide standardized map products and customized services. It has established a new mode for provincial standard map services while enhancing the systematicness, richness of standard maps as well as convenience and customization of services.
